When you travel abroad and stay at a hotel, it’s a good idea to leave the bathroom lights on at night.
For one, the softly lit area can help ease anxiety for those who feel uneasy sleeping in new places.
Additionally, it offers visibility during emergencies like fires or break-ins, helping you find exits quickly without having to search for your phone or a light switch.
Naturally, when we’re at a hotel or motel, we often leave our luggage on the floor if our stay is brief or if we’re too exhausted to put our clothes and other items in the closet. Keeping the bathroom light on can help us avoid tripping over our bags in the dark.

Moreover, if there happens to be an intruder, the light being on might make them think that the people in the room are awake.
Sometimes, whether we like it or not, we have to keep the bathroom light on, just like a Reddit user who posted a picture of his recent hotel stay. The bathroom door was made of glass, and the light seemed too bright for him.
He wrote, “This hotel bathroom when you turn the bathroom light on at night.”

As expected, the comments revealed that people have different opinions; some said they would enjoy glass doors because they let in a lot of light at night, while others thought it would be a nightmare.
“I stayed in a similar one recently… the bathroom light was motion-activated, so I couldn’t avoid turning it on either,” one person commented. “As someone who can’t sleep without the bathroom light off, this would be a nightmare for me,” another added.
So, what do you prefer? Do you keep the lights on all night?
